I've owed this review for a ridiculously long time, Ri-dicu-lously long. And let's face it- it's not that long of a book, so what's my problem exactly? Well we don't have time enough here to answer that question but moving on...
Sex Dungeon for Sale is pure genius..hey I don't say that too often...after all I'm a discerning reader. Okay, maybe not so much discerning as picky as hell and tough to please and well none of that is really important now is it?
I do have one complaint- SDFS is a collection of short stories- some only ranging a page or two. I WANT MORE! I want to read more about the sex dungeon and the experimental drug testing (Pandemic Jones) and the small boy who is really a French midget (My Son Thinks He's French). See you haven't read the book and already you want more. Frustrating, isn't it? I don't know if I should call the author brilliant or disturbed but perhaps a mixture of both- brilliantly disturbed. I would love to see what he could do with a full novel.
Perhaps even more entertaining is the Bizarro Books catalog in the back. Where has this been all my life? How did I not know these delightful tales existed? Books with titles such as Satan Burger- Six punks get a job at a fast food restaurant owned by the devil. or Grape City- a demon named Charles is forced to work in a minimum wage job after Hell goes out of business. I can't chose just one.
But back to SDFS- this was a book I had to pass along to the Man-child once I was done. Trading inside jokes from the short story Chicken Soup for the Kidnapper's Soul made an otherwise boring holiday get-together much more enjoyable.
Many thanks to you Patrick- not only for keeping us appropriately entertained but allowing me to witness actual milk come out of my kid's nose because he was laughing so hard- you are my hero!
