As a book reviewer I sometimes receive unsolicited books. Meaning I occasionally have to read books/authors I’ve never heard of and then tell all of you what I think. I know, rough job, right? Well sometimes it is- especially when I get some real stinkers. On the other hand occasionally I get introduced to an author I wouldn’t necessarily pick up. Authors like Larissa Ione. I normally would walk right past a Larissa Ione. Not for any particular reason. The covers are beautiful, the description catchy but for some reason this is an author I’d normally walk right past. Which is a shame because she is fantastic. I first read Ecstasy Unveiled. Read my review here. Holy Cow that book was awesome. Over the weekend I happened to pick up Pleasure Unbound and let me tell you it is freakin’ fantastic! Larissa Ione can write one smokin’ H-O-T novel. Her characters are hot, the danger is hot, the intimate scenes are fiery.
In Pleasure Unbound, Eidolon created the Underworld General Hospital (UGH), a sanctuary to treat all species, from demon to vampire to werewolf to human and everything in between. He also happens to be a Seminus demon, nearing his hundred year transition. A transition that doesn’t bode well for anyone.
When her mother is tortured and killed by a demon, Tayla adopted the mantle of demon-slayer, an Aegi. With her partner killed and she herself is injured, Tayla is picked up by the UGH paramedics and brought to Eidolon. Despite his misgivings he patches up his enemy and sends her on her way. Circumstances keeping throwing these two together in this action packed, suspense-driven novel of misunderstanding and exciting encounters.
My only complaint- which isn’t the author’s fault- was in starting at the end. Learn from my mistake. Read these in order. I know I’m determined to pick up the rest.
