Oh my goodness this book is just too damned cute to keep for myself. Plus I''m not a Dad so it doesn't quite seem appropriate.
If you aren't a Dad- this is a great gift to give to the Dads in your life. Especially if they happen to be even the slightest bit Geeky. Each few a pages is a "geek" activity for Dads to do with their kids. Each activity has a skill level identified plus an indicator as to how much it costs. From the silly and basic "Wind-up Toy Finger Painting (just as it sounds) to the complex "Build an Outdoor Theater"- this book has tons of suggestions.
Studies show the key to building strong parent-child relationships is simple- spend lots of quality time with your kids. That's why TV always harps on us to sit down at meal time. It's not the act of eating at the same table- it's spending that quality structured time together. Personally I can't stand to eat together at the table. I prefer to spend time with the kidlets in other ways.

Hi! I follow your blog with Google Reader! I love it & also the Zoe Writes blog. I also follow you on Twitter. Thanks for the contest :)
Comment #2: I loved spending time with my mom as a kid because she was so easygoing. She did things like play rummy & checkers with me, but she also spent time dispensing knowledge: she taught me how to paint, how to do needlepoint, etc. I still like to hang out with my mom now that I'm an adult. We shop together mostly :D
