Salvation in Death

Not even sure anymore if this is the newest and latest book because, oy with the poodles already, she can sure crank these suckers out-that Nora Roberts, one wonders if she has an evil lair full of elves that she forces to put pen to paper. If not, does she sleep... ever?

I believe this one might be the 29th??? in this series and so far has all the best Eve Dallas bon mots. The great sidekick-Peabody, beautiful wonderful tycoon husband- Rourke (how does he ever have time to run that multi-national corporation when he's always solving crimes with Eve), a great futuristic society (Paid motherhood and legalized, licensed sex companions- Have you thought of running for office, Ms. Roberts? You might do better at solving some of our problems than the idiot in the Capitol who wants to take away medical insurance from Tiny Tim), and a grisly crime.

My only compliant- sorry- yes the main character suffered from a horrible childhood-but after 29 books-FOR GOD'S SAKE get over it already. Get some counseling, take some Prozac, go on a retreat and get over it. Move on. Get a grip!!!! Like the friend who talks about the one who got away, over and over and over 16 years later, I'm done hearing about it. Probably not a good sign when I am yelling at the book I'm reading.

The victim is Fr. Miguel Flores, a popular Catholic priest in New York City's Spanish Harlem or is he???? Duh-Da-Dum, murdered during Holy communion. Ah the memories, Catholic flashback-danger, danger.

I give it a B, decent beach reading, give it a go.
