The Tao of Willie: Audiobook

Tao Of Willie - A Guide To Happiness In Your HeartCome on - how could I not pick up a book with this title. The Tao according to Willie Nelson- totally crazy right? It's really is about Willie Nelson with just a sprinkling of the Tao included. I have to admit I'm not a huge country western fan. Sure I know the basics, a little Patsy Cline, some early Johnny Cash, the Judds but really don't know any of the new guys AT ALL.

If nothing else this book gave me a greater appreciation for Willie Nelson. He's not just the pot smoking, gray braided old guy trotted out for Farm Aid. I mean sure I knew he could sing. He has a voice that is recognizable across countries. But it gave me a deeper appreciation for what he had to do to get to where he's at. Willie is a prime example of do what you love and the rest will fall into place.

This book is a little difficult to listen only in that someone else is reading the part of Willie. When he talks how I did this or I did that...you expect to hear Willie's voice. I have to keep reminding myself...when the narrator talks about being a pig farmer, he's referring to Willie being a pig farmer.

Scattered through are a bunch of really silly jokes- very entertaining. You'll find yourself repeating them to your friends.

Here's just a few of the quotes...

"The early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese."

"You will never find happiness until you stop looking for it."

"What's a hot, young woman on a (golf)caddy's arm? --A Tattoo."
