Wanna Get Lucky?

You can totally picture the Coonts household.

"Honey, I asked you to take out the garbage."

"Can't I'm working." he yells back.

"Sure, working" she mutters, "How hard can it be to sit at a computer all day ans throw your tiny ball into a net 5000 times. Gathering your thoughts. Well buddy, you've been gathering your thoughts for five hours."

Coming up behind her, "Well if you think it's so easy, why don't you do it."

"FINE I WILL,"

"FINE,"he shoots back.

-or something like that.

(Deborah is married to Stephen Connts, prolific author of too many thrill books to count). This is Deborah's first book and let me tell you she kicks book writing's ass. She takes book writing and locks it in the closet. She sets book writing on a stool and puts a dunce caps on it's head. She bad cops all over book writing's face.

Hey can you tell I kinda liked this book?

Back of the Book
Wanna Get Lucky?A young woman plunges from a Las Vegas sightseeing helicopter, landing in the Pirate’s lagoon in front of the Treasure Island Hotel in the middle of the 8:30 Pirate Show. Almost everyone writes her off as another Vegas victim. But Lucky O’Toole smells a rat.

She’s head of Customer Relations at The Babylon, the newest, most opulent mega-casino and resort on the Strip, so she’s got a lot on her plate: the Adult Film industry’s annual awards banquet, a spouse-swapping convention, sex toy purveyors preying on the pocket-protector crowd attending ElectroniCon…. Still, Lucky can’t resist turning over a few stones. When a former flame is one of the snakes she uncovers, Lucky’s certain she’s no longer dealing with an anonymous Sin City suicide. To top it all off, Lucky’s best friend Teddie—Las Vegas’ finest female impersonator—presses to take their relationship to the next level. Leave it to Lucky to attract a man who looks better in a dress than she does. Lucky must manage the Babylon’s onslaught of outrageous festivities, solve a murder, and struggle to keep her life and libido from spinning out of control… not to mention keep her balance in six inch heels.

My Thoughts
Jesus Christ- where do I even start? The goodness just pours out. First it's Las Vegas where weird happens everyday. Then her mother is a hardcore madame, running a successful business. There's a murder. She's dates a very masculine female impersonator.

Wait let's stop here for just one second- can you even imagine the possibilities? Dating a female impersonator- Utter genius- your wardrobe automatically doubles. You have access to some of the best make-up. Don't have to worry about other women hitting on your man. You know he's in shape. hmmm.

Lucky is the perfect character. She is everything you want a heroine to be. Smart, Funny, just enough neuroses to be entertaining but not scary-creepy. She has a great job, with an even better assistant.

Best of all Wanna Get Lucky? doesn't read like a first novel. Either she had the best in the business doing a little editing for her or she is just naturally gifted.

Scores ten out of ten on the tequila meter.
